Project Description

The cozy kettle is primarily designed on the basis of modular construction that can be fit for any site even with arbitrary geometry. The modules are versatile, that can be added on the both axis, which allows more unique and flexible lay-out.

Though the design is quite versatile regardless the geometry of the site, it was primarily designed considering DU TSC as an ideal site. Being a cultural hotspot, TSC often encounters gathering of considerable amount of people. To meet this extra need of space, additional modules can be used which can also be dismantled afterwards when the space is needed to perform more significant task. The frame structure is completely made of bamboo which is not only a local and available material, but also cost efficient. The skin covering the structure is made of metal sheet which is light-weight, durable and easy to deal with.

Instead of parallel walls, the tea stall was designed with a couple of inclined walls to make the construction easier and less time consuming which also takes less amount of material to be built. Each module has a dedicated space, which is partially shaded where people can connect over a cup of tea. This makes the tea stall a vibrant hotspot for public engagement.
