Project Description
The easiest and most common way of escape in our hectic life is tea. You could have it in leisure in your own home or seek out a tea stall that is usually within walking distance. With a cup of tea in hand, conversations can flow into moments of connections as it can take mere minutes to a couple of hours. So from this stems our concept, Teascape - a space where conversations flow freely and a harmonious escape that gives way to relaxation, reflection and meaningful interactions.
Our aim was to create something that is not very far from what we are already familiar with but to make it more convenient and craft a better experience. In our design we made sure to avoid creating anything that would make anyone feel uncomfortable approaching it. We wanted people from all walks of life to feel welcomed and at ease. So for this we split our well known tea stall into 3 parts making it modular. The main module is where tea making takes place and the other two are for seating and shading. We designed the modules to be stackable, allowing them to nest within each other when not in use. This flexible design also enables them to be extended during usage, ensuring that they occupy minimal space when not needed. We've also incorporated chalkboard surfaces on the exterior of the tea stall, allowing people to share their thoughts, stories, and impressions, fostering a sense of community connection.
