Project Description

The modular tea stall is a sustainable, space-efficient, and socially impact solution designed to serve as both a business space and a shelter for homeless individuals. Provided by the government as a city investment, this innovative structure helps marginalized individuals earn a livelihood while ensuring they have a safe place to sleep at night. Designed for narrow urban spaces, the stall occupies only 2 feet, preventing congestion and maintaining pedestrian flow. Its modular and foldabledesign allows for easy assembly, dis-assembly, and mobility, making it adaptable to different locations. Built with bamboo and PET fabric, the stall is eco-friendly, lightweight, and durable, ensuring sustainability while minimizing environmenta impact. Integrated furniture serves as both seating and part of the stall, optimizing space and functionality. The design also tackles urban challenges such as footpath congestion, as structured seating prevents crowds from blocking walkways and causing traffic disruptions. Additionally, it addresses plastic waste pollution by introducing a biodegradable paper cup with a seed layer, allowing discarded cups to transform into plants, promoting greenery in the city. By combining social impact, sustainability, and functionality, this tea stall offers a practical and forward-thinking approach to improving urban environments while supporting vulnerable communities.
