Project Description

Tea stall working as a social hub in the context of urban and rural areas, creating a platform for gathering, relaxation and discussion on various topics stretching from neighborhood talks to national and international political issues.

In the primary phase of designing this stall, our key focus on ensuring that space for celebrating public engagement and mutual bonds of a community in every context possible while ensuring the proper use of ergonomics and compactibility.

While trying to make our design more compact we considered a multi-use facade system which can be transmitted into sitting spaces by folding mechanism.

Here three types of spaces are considered in terms of functional arrangement.

1. Storage space

2. Tea-making space

3. Community engagement space.

In relation to making it more affordable and sustainable, a composite structural system is considered using steel frame and bamboo coverings on top of it. to ensure movability, the use of wheel is ensured so that it can be transported at any time, at any place. To make it sustainable, a proper security and enclosure is considered to protect in all weather.

Also, the sitting space is thought in a new way by creating a more introverted space for social dialect and the overall space is open for all types of people to come and interact

In conclusion, creating a user-friendly, multi-functional space for all types of people celebrating over a cup of tea was the main thought behind all the design decisions that were implemented here.
