Project Description

Located in the vibrant hub of Polashi, Dhaka, surrounded by BUET and Dhaka University, Tea-Kon is a thoughtfully designed tea stall that redefines the traditional tea experience. Its name blends English and Bengali, with 'Tea' representing its core purpose and Kon meaning 'corner,' reflecting both its triangular form and role as a cozy urban gathering space.

With a compact 3m x 3m x 3m triangular footprint and a height of 3.35m, the stall maximizes efficiency. Upper and lower storage compartments ensure smooth workflow, while a foldable front panel creates a semi-shaded outdoor extension, enhancing comfort.

Understanding tea stalls as social hubs, Tea-Kon incorporates a designated smoking zone on its northern side, allowing the southern wind to carry smoke away. A leaning bar with an integrated ash disposal system maintains cleanliness and organization.

Sustainability is key, as tempered glass cups replace disposables, reducing waste and promoting a culture of reuse. The stall's efficient layout, smooth workflow, and community-driven approach make it an economically viable model for small businesses.

More than just a tea stall, Tea-Kon is a symbol of urban togetherness, sustainability, and thoughtful design. Inspired by traditional tea culture yet reimagined for modern city life, it fosters community interaction, relaxation, and meaningful conversations, making it a true reflection of Dhaka's dynamic spirit.
