Project Description
The proposed tea stall reimagines traditional service models through an Omni-Directional Serving System enabling 360-degree customer engagement. This circular or multi-sided counter design optimizes efficiency by reducing wait times, enhancing accessibility, and accommodating simultaneous service to multiple patrons. Beyond functionality, the stall fosters a dynamic social hub where patrons exchange conversations and community updates, encapsulated by the phrase Spill the tea a nod to its dual role as a refreshment and information-sharing space.
Inspired by Planter tree benches-historic gathering spots-the design prioritizes communal interaction. The layout merges respite with active participation, creating space where individuals unwind while engaging with their surroundings. Materials such as bamboo, wood, and tarpaulin underscore sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and support for local craftsmanship. These choices reduce environmental impact while aligning with vernacular construction practices
Strategically sited under the Elevated Express, the stall leverages natural shading to enhance comfort. The location ensures visibility and accessibility, further promoting foot traffic and community connectivity.
Key Architectural Highlights:
Innovative Layout: Circular counter design maximizes spatial efficiency and user engagement.
Social Integration: Fosters community interaction, transforming a utilitarian structure into a cultural node..
Sustainable Materiality: Locally sourced, ecofriendly matenals reduce carbon footprint.
Contextual Adaptation: Site selection optimizes environmental conditions (shading) and urban integration.
This design transcends conventional tea stalls, offering a scalable prototype for public spaces that balance utility, sustainability, and social vitality. It invites patrons to savor tea while contributing to and digesting-the Summary of Society around them.
