Project Description
Concept : Blending Tradition Space-Effective Urban Planning & Urban Adaptability
Project Brief: Tea stalls have long been vibrant social hubs, fostering conversations and community bonding across urban settings. Rooted in culture, these informal spaces witness everyday life events but often lack spatial efficiency and aesthetic enhancement. Sips and Stories reimagines the traditional tea stall as a modular, foldable unit seamlessly integrated under a metro station staircase, maximizing space utilization while preserving cultural essence.
The modular design ensures the stall folds into a compact, secure unit after operating hours, minimizing its footprint. Inspired by the rustic charm of traditional tea stalls, the structure incorporates modern materials and modular construction techniques, enhancing durability and ease of mobility. The design prioritizes ergonomic efficiency for the tea vendor, ensuring comfort during operation.
Design Objectives:
Space Optimization: Utilizes residual spaces under metro stations without disrupting the pedestrian flow.
Modular & Foldable Design: Compact when closed, fully functional when open, ensuring flexibility and security.
Cultural Integration: Retains the warmth and familiarity of traditional tea stalls while embracing contemporary design.
Sustainability & Durability: Employs eco-friendly materials to promote longevity and reduce environmental impact.
User-Centric Approach: Enhances the vendor's experience with an ergonomic workspace while creating an inviting customer atmosphere.
