PROJECT DESCRIPTION

WE TRIED TO DESIGN A PROTOTYPE OF A TEA STALL THAT COULD FIT ANYWHERE. THIS TEA STALL IS DESIGNED AS A GATHERING SPACE INSPIRED FROM THE PANCHAYAT SYSTEM WHICH IS PREVAILING IN BANGLADESH SINCE 3 TO 4 HUNDRED YEARS. THE PANCHAYAT SYSTEM GENERALLY MAKES A STRONG BOND IN BETWEEN PEOPLE OF THE COMMUNITY BY THE MEANS OF DISCUSSION. THUS WE TRIED DESIGNING A TEA STALL WHICH WILL BE A HUB FOR THE PEOPLE OF COMMUNITY.

THIS TEA STALL CONTAINS FEATURES THAT WILL PROMOTE SUSTAINABILITY BY THE MEANS OF MODERN SOLUTIONS AT THE SAME TIME KEEPING THE ESSENCE OF TRADITIONAL TOUCH.

WE HAVE TRIED TO STUDY DIFFERENT TYPOLOGIES OF EXISTING TEA STALLS AND INTEGRATED THE FEATURES IN OUR DESIGN. THE STALL CAN BE DISMANTLED AND ORGANIZED ACCORDING TO THE NEED OF THE OWNER OR CLIENT. THE TEA STATION OF THE STALL WILL BE PORTABLE SO THAT IT CAN BE CARRIED ANYWHERE LIKE FUNCTIONS. THIS STALL WILL CONTAIN A NON SMOKING ZONE AS WELL. THE STRUCTURAL MATERIAL OF THE STALL IS GOING TO BE BAMBOO AND THE STRUCTURE OF THE ROOF IS GOING TO BE WOOD. THE ROOF WILL BE MADE OF TIN AS IT COMBINES WELL WITH THE RAIN MAKING PEOPLE NOSTALGIC WHILE ENJOYING THEIR TEA. A TAKEAWAY WINDOW HAS BEEN ALSO BEEN INSTALLED. THERE IS A SPACE FOR BOARD GAMES FOR THE PEOPLE OF COMMUNITY. MOREOVER WE KNOW THAT A SPACE IS AS OURS AS IT IS FOR ANIMALS. THUS THIS DESIGN WILL ALSO BE FRIENDLY TO ANIMALS PROVIDING THEM WITH SHELTER AT TIMES.

NOW MOVING BACK TO SUSTAINABILITY, THE DESIGN WILL CONTAIN ORGANIC WASTE (CHA PATA, BANANA PEEL ETC.) MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. THE WASTE CAN BE SOLD TO NURSERIES AS FERTILIZERS AND BE THE MEANS OF ADDITIONAL INCOME. AS CLAY POTS WILL BE USED TO SERVE THE TEA, THESE POTS CAN LATER BE SOLD TO NURSERIES BECAUSE THEY ACT WELL AS POTTING MEDIA. MOREOVER SOLAR PANELS WILL BE INSTALLED. DURING THE DAY TIME THE SOLAR BOTTLE BULB OR LITER OF LIGHT WILL BE USED AS IT IS A LOW-COST, SUSTAINABLE LIGHTING SOLUTION THAT USES A PLASTIC BOTTLE, WATER, AND BLEACH TO PROVIDE DAYLIGHT ILLUMINATION INSIDE DARK SPACES WITHOUT ELECTRICITY AND DURING NIGHT TIME THE SOLAR PANEL WILL BACK UP FOR ELECTRICITY. THE STALL WILL ALSO CONTAIN A LIGHTHOUSE TYPE OF FEATURE THAT WILL ENSURE SAFETY DURING NIGHT TIME. LASTLY RAIN WATER HARVESTING SYSTEM IS INTRODUCED IN THE DESIGN FOR THE CLEANING PURPOSE.

THUS WITH ALL THE INITIATIVES ABOVE, WE CLAIM THIS PROTOTYPE OF TEA STALL AS A COMMUNITY HUB, WHICH WILL BE SUSTAINABLE BY THE MEANS OF MODERN SOLUTIONS, WHEREAS KEEPING THE ESSENCE OF TRADITIONAL TOUCH.
