Project Description

Concept: "Pausing Under the Awning - A Structured Yet Welcoming Pause Spot for Tea"

Locals often name tea stalls "Mayer Doa" (Mother's Blessings) as a symbol of warmth and protection. Inspired by this, the tea stall's shade (shamiyana/chayatol) represents both motherly care and the traditional fabric/tarpaulin awnings used in local stalls. This design blends functionality with cultural sentiment, creating a gathering space for all.

Modular Design Features:

- A tall, permanent unit with collapsible gates for security.

-Houses tea-making tools, storage shelves, and waste collection bins. -Adaptable in three ways:

(a) A standalone stall.

(b) Two units combined for a tea hotspot.

(c) A floating version on a traditional boat.

-Tripol/tarpaulin acts as a rainproof and sunshade cover.

-Fixed truss structure for stability, symbolizing Mayer Doa's protective shade.

-Recycled steel, wood, bamboo, and lattice frameworks.

-Rickshaw paint motifs reflect local artistry.

-Dual waste system with separate bins for compostable and plastic waste

-Recycled plastic stools and bamboo tea cups.

This modular stall isn't just a tea shop- it's a cultural hub, bringing people together to share moments of joy and community, offering warmth and a sense of belonging under the protective embrace of "Mayer Doa."
