Project Description
"EcocollecTEAve" reimagines the tea stall as a catalyst for community connection, leveraging its inherent role as a social hub to unlock untapped potential for collective action. Tea stalls are more than places to drink-they are organic gathering spots where diverse groups converge, ideas are exchanged, and relationships are forged. This project transforms the stall into a platform for grassroots empowerment, prioritizing community impact through intentional design and sustainable practices.
Key Components:
Reclaimed Amphitheater: A flexible space for workshops, skill-sharing sessions, and dialogues led by local residents. Marginalized voices-from street vendors to youth activists- shape conversations on equity.
2. Artisan Shop: Positioned opposite the tea stall and adjacent to the amphitheater, this space showcases handmade goods (e.g., woven baskets, pottery, upcycled crafts) by local artisans. -Products are crafted from sustainable materials like recycled textiles, bamboo, and clay, supporting traditional livelihoods and reducing waste.
-Revenue funds neighborhood green projects like tree planting and waste management.
3. Flower Stall: Partners with women-led cooperatives to sell blooms grown in community gardens, fostering urban greening and economic equity.
4. Sustainable Systems: Reusable Clay Cups Crafted by rural artisans, these cups reduce waste while preserving cultural heritage.
Compost Stations: Convert tea leaves and organic waste into fertilizer for public parks.
Why Focus on Community Impact?
Tea stalls are natural social equalizers, bridging class, age, and cultural divides. By redesigning them as intentional spaces for dialogue, commerce, and collaboration, "EcocollecTEAve" amplifies their role as engines of social cohesion. The artisan shop and amphitheater create a communal triangle, where tea, art, and conversation intersect to foster collective ownership and problem-solving.
The design communal seating and artisan collaborations-reflects this ethos. It's not just a place to drink tea; it's a blueprint for community-led sustainability, where every interaction sows seeds of equity and environmental care.
