Project Description:
The tea stall serves as a social hub which encourages interaction, making it a welcoming space for relaxation and informal discussions. Our design suggests a blend of traditional tea culture with modern architecture. Some features are-
Its open structure promotes ventilation, while the seating arrangement fosters inclusivity.
An extruded corner from the serving counter serves as a newspaper and menu holder, offering added functionality. The presence of newspapers and documents indicates that the space might also serve as an informal discussion area.
The stall is centrally located with a vendor preparing tea and snacks inside a round counter equipped with appliances. The radius of the entire circle is 10 ft. Area: 314.16 sq. ft.
A large, open circular roof structure provides shade, allowing natural light to filter through. The flat roof protects the serving chamber from sun and rain, while geometric cutouts create dynamic light patterns, enhancing the ambience.
Using wood and bamboo for this tea stall makes it sustainable, cost-effective, and eco-friendly. Surrounding circular wooden benches provide seating and integrate a waste management system by dual-function opening mechanism- the upper section allows waste disposal, while the lower pull-out section features a pull-out drawer for easy collection.
Overall, this design optimizes space utilization and enhances hygiene by reducing direct contact with the bin. The integration into furniture ensures a neat and organized appearance while maintaining functionality. Using found materials not only reduces waste but also gives the tea stall a unique, rustic, and creative charm which is possibly intended for urban or semi-urban settings (like park, varsity area, etc.)
