Project Description
Emphasizes the combination of tea, books, and the peaceful riverside atmosphere. We have chosen Fultola, Rajshahi as our site. The site is located right on the bank of the Padma River. The reason for the site selection is that it is very close to RUET and Rajshahi University and the place is very tranquil. Moreover, it is a popular public spot, people come here alone or with their friends and family. Our form came from the rural tea shop and shacks on the riverbank. Here we used burned clay tiles as the roofing material, with steel columns and frames to give it stability. This design emphasizes maximizing cross-ventilation with open facades and shaded overhang which also provides frame views of the Padma river.
We have used rammed earth walls to block the heat from the west. In addition, bamboo has been used as flooring and balcony support. All of these things provide stability and strength to the building and make it cost-effective. In this design, there is a small book corner. Across cultures, tea is a symbol of hospitality and community. Pairing it with books can create a serene environment that fosters relaxation, reflection, and social interaction . Here, we have included an indoor game zone, reading zone, a smoking zone, and various types of seating arrangement. People can have tea and chat while reading books or just enjoy the peaceful riverside atmosphere.
