Project Description

Concept: Community Gathering in Tea Stall


Design Inspiration:

The tea stall draws from vernacular architecture, emphasizing local materials, traditional techniques, and cultural context. It serves as a community hub, promoting interaction, comfort, and inclusivity.

Its Architectural Form is based on Open Layout. A semi-open structure with a thatched roof, inspired by local pavilions, promoting airflow and visibility. Semi Outdoor Sitting Incorporate a small open space to mimic traditional village layouts, encouraging gatherings and activities. The Flexible Seating uses low platforms and woven stools, allowing people to sit Individually or in groups.

Its materials are inspired from nature. Use locally sourced wood, bamboo, thatch, and cane.


Functionality & Experience:

Tea Service as a Ritual. The preparation of tea is visible, inviting conversations with the vendor, similar to traditional roadside tea stalls.


Activity Zones:

Designate areas for playing board games, reading, or hosting small events like storytelling or music sessions.
