Project Description

A tea stall is not just a place for selling tea but a cultural and social icon that provokes conversation and public interaction. This tea stall, especially created for use on a college campus, also reinforces the campus as an institution for open communication and leadership in the future by being an energetic center of dialogue and discussion.

The process of making tea is redefined as a performing art installation by the owner, who is a fine arts student, and offers visitors a different experience. In addition to serving tea, the owner also adds a personal touch by surprising visitors with caricature paintings live. To facilitate conversation and creative exchange, visitors are also allowed to interact with the interactive canvas boards, where they can write and share their ideas. The stall is a venue of occasional art exhibitions.

Its use of a frame structure symbolizing a canvas stand captures it perfectly as an artistic object. As modular with recyclable materials made of wood and metal, it is extremely light and easy to disassemble, thereby making it easy to place it anywhere on the campus. At the center work station, there are a stove, other kitchenware, and a storage facility.

One of the concepts is sustainability: leftover clay is reutilized to make cups, and garbage canvases are transformed into teacups, creating very little waste. The owner has a serene sanctuary to be imaginative in the uppermost attic space, and the outer portion of the stall provides shelter for stray dogs and cats during the night.
